A portrait, a photo, an exhibition that changes everything

Every year, Sourrire asbl organizes a unique and deeply human project: offering residents, refugees, beneficiaries of our actions as well as people from diverse backgrounds, without distinction, the opportunity to be photographed by a professional photographer for an exhibition.
These portraits have a special feature: 100 shots, 100 portraits, 100 faces, all identical in form and in the search for self-esteem, but unique in what they reveal through the exhibition.

Why this project?

Because a portrait is not just an image: it’s a moment when one regains self-confidence.
Because by being photographed in exactly the same way as others, beneficiaries find their place of equality, far from differences and labels.
Because a shared photograph becomes a bridge between people who sometimes feel so distant from each other.

Help us finance the cost of this project

The photo shoot for these 100 portraits by a professional photographer represents a total cost of €6,000; that’s €60 per shot.
It’s an essential investment for dignity, self-esteem and inclusion. A humanitarian action.
That’s why we need you.
With your donation, we will be able to:
– finance the shoot; the professional photography,
– execute the realization and production of the images,
– highlight faces that are too often made invisible,
– and above all give value and pride to those who participate.

Who are our partners?

The first part of the project consists of the photographic realization. The taking and processing of the shots. It is financed by you, every euro counts, every donation counts.
The City of Luxembourg carries the project in its exhibition phase. It offers two emblematic places for the exhibition: Place de Strasbourg and the Bierger-Center.
An exhibition that will be preceded by a launch and press conference.

Who leads the project?

Sourrire asbl is a public utility non-profit association based in Luxembourg.
We work for integration, dignity and self-esteem through social and psychological care, provision of emergency needs, psychosocial repair, professional retraining and social inclusion.

Rewards:

For a fixed donation amount for the amounts indicated below, you are eligible to receive a reward to thank you for your commitment.

➡️ €30: Personalized thank you by email. Mention of the donor’s name on the website.

➡️ €100: All of the above + 1 Printed poster of the exhibition, signed by the team. Donor’s name on a physical thank you wall at the exhibition. Access to a VIP launch event (cocktail, meeting with press and organizers).
